In this world, it sometimes happens that the one or those we want to judge offer gifts to the judges so that they turn a blind eye to what they have done wrong. But no one can do that with God. God is perfectly righteous and cannot be bribed, swayed by good deeds, or ignore wrongdoing (Psalm 145:17).
S'il punissait chacun pour ses péchés, il serait juste. Mais s'il pardonnait à tous sans jugement, il ne serait plus juste ; il semblerait tolérer le mal. Cela crée un dilemme : comment Dieu peut-il juger chaque péché avec justice tout en faisant preuve de miséricorde envers tous ?
La réponse se trouve en Jésus-Christ. Sur la croix, Jésus a pris sur lui le châtiment que nous méritions. En lui, la justice de Dieu a été pleinement satisfaite et sa miséricorde a été accordée gratuitement. Par Jésus, justice et miséricorde s'harmonisent parfaitement.
