There is also something very important that you should know. It is the second state in which Muhammad was when he received his revelations. In Sahih Bukhari volume 2 hadith n°1789, it is written: I wanted so much to see the prophet receiving the revelation said Ya’la ibn Umayya. Omar ibn al Khattab called me and said to me: It would not please you to see the prophet receiving the revelation. “I would like to” I said. So, Omar lifted the flap of the blanket and I saw the prophet. He was breathing heavily.
Safwan ibn ya’la said: I believe my father said the prophet was breathing hard like a camel. That was the state his revelations put him in. He was falling and breathing loudly like a camel. It was so horrifying that Omar the Second Caliph said: It is not at all pleasant to see when Muhammad started receiving his revelations. It’s so horrifying that we cover him with a blanket until he comes back to himself. In Sahih Bukhari volume 3, hadith n°4329, it is said that when Muhammad starts receiving his revelations his face takes on an intense purplish red color and he breathes loudly like a camel. So, the thing is manifesting in him. If you witness this scene once today, who would you take the person for? Think carefully. There is also a hadith in which someone asked Muhammad how he received his revelations. In Sahih Bukhari volume 2 hadith n°3215, it is written: Aïcha said: Al harith ibn Hicham asked the prophet: Messenger of Allah, how do you receive your revelations. The prophet answered:
Archangel Gabriel sends it to me sometimes like the ringing of a bell, and it is the most painful for me. When it comes to an end, I have already grabbed everything. Sometimes the angel appears to me in the form of a man that is talking to me and I understand what he is saying. That is a little of the effect of the revelations on him. Revelations are painful for Muhammad. But the most painful is the one that comes to him like the ringing of a bell. This is the real history of the origins of Islam and the Christian faith.
